About the Author

Dr. Nicole Sheehan, DVM, CVA, CVCH, CVFT

Nicole Sheehan is a 2004 graduate of The Ohio State University. She owns Whole Pet Veterinary Hospitals and leads veterinary teams in North Carolina and Florida to integrate alternatives like acupuncture, herbal medicine, and holistic nutrition with traditional medicine, surgery, and dentistry. She currently sees mostly second and third opinions in her flagship hospital in Davidson, NC where she’s worked since 2013.

The liver is a complex and interesting organ responsible for no less than 500 functions in the body. One of the most important functions of the liver is to process chemicals and noxious substances in the body and prepare them for excretion out of the body. We will review these processes as well as ways to provide supplementation to support healthy liver function. A review of research and available solutions for canine and feline patients will be included.
